Who we are

We are a team of people from different countries living in the UK. In 2019, we met as ESOL students, joined community activities, formed friendships, and started creating a website aiming to promote integration between communities. We wanted to introduce North Lancashire and the world to refugees and their stories. The website continues to develop and we invite contributions. Under INFO ABOUT REFUGEES, you will find out why asylum seekers and refugees have fled their countries. You will also find news and personal stories from community members, reflecting their experiences and understanding. Under GLOBAL LINK PROJECTS, you will see diverse work, local and international, about peace, community heritage, and active citizenship.

This website is also FOR refugees: to help refugees living in the UK, with video, and information. This includes information about Leave to Remain, work, benefits, education, and tutorials in basic IT. In 2020, we added information in many languages about coping with Coronavirus: health and safety, online learning, parenting, and using technology like Zoom. Please tell us if there is something you want to know more about or something you want to share. We are updating the website all the time.

If you are an asylum seeker or refugee willing to share your story, please contact us. We are ready to share more and improve the website.
