The UK Council for International Student Affairs

About UKCISA

The UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) is the UK’s national advisory body serving the interests of international students and those who work with them.

Since 1968 the UK Council for International Student Affairs has worked to support international students and the institutions, students’ unions and organisations who work closely with them.

We’re a small organisation of 16 staff based in London, but have nearly 500 members. Our membership includes every university in the UK, many FE colleges, independent schools and students’ unions.

As well as giving advice direct to students, we support our members by providing training, up-to-date guidance about relevant rules and information, for example immigration, student finance and tuition fee status, and about the wider student experience. By working collaboratively with our members we are able to raise areas of concern with government departments and raise awareness of the benefits that international students bring to the UK in the wider media.
