Please note you will need to send proof of ID to apply for a license, hence this should not be done as soon as you have been granted refugee status as your ID is needed for more urgent issues.
You can apply for a provisional licence via:
www.gov.uk/driving-lessons-learning-to-drive or get a paper form from the post office.
You can start to learn how to drive from the age of 17.
To drive on your own, you must pass the UK driving test which on consists of:
  • Theory & Hazard Perception (computer-based test done only in English)
  • Practical- approximately one-hour test in a vehicle with an examiner
